For nearly six years, Vimeo has had one of the best communities on the interwebs, leaving upwards of 5,000 insightful, thoughtful comments a day and spreading the love by “liking” about 30,000 videos a day. The Vimeo community has become an experienced group of active judges making Vimeo the proving ground for artists and creative folks sharing their work on the web. We honored the Vimeo Awards winners in October at the first ever Vimeo Festival + Awards. During that time, we also asked the community to vote for their favorite videos in each of the nine categories. The Community Choice winners are special as they were chosen by their peers and fellow creators on Vimeo. The community has spoken and it is our distinct pleasure to announce the winners of the 2010 Vimeo Community Choice Awards. The winners are: Narrative: “Apricot” by Ben Briand — Moonwalk FilmsDocumentary: “Last Minutes with ODEN” by Eliot RauschMusic Video: “Nyle — Let the Beat Build” by Nyle Animation: “Bottle” by Kirsten Lepore Original Series: “La Blogetheque — Take Away Shows” by Christophe Abric, Vincent Moon, La BlogethequeExperimental: “The Holy Chicken of Life & Music” by NomintMotion Graphics: “TRIANGLE” by Onur SenturkCaptured:“Hi” by Dani Armengol — Multitouch Barcelona Remix: “The Tarantino Mixtape” by Eclectic MethodWe want to thank everyone who submitted their work for making this Inaugural Vimeo Festival + Awards a brilliant success, and we can’t wait to see your entries next year.
