A View from the Back Bay

My name is Skip Pile, living in Boston and Nantucket Island and generally watching closely from a distance.

Crimes against the soul.
A Polaroid photograph of the late Dennis Hopper, taken by fellow actor Jason Lee, was stolen from a small Los Angeles art gallery on Friday, and a reward of $25,000 is being offered by Lee to anyone who can bring it back. News of the theft was posted on the gallery’s website over the weekend.
The gallery said the theft took place “after the crowds had left and we were cleaning up … someone stole a piece off the wall and bolted out the front door.”
“The thief can come forward anonymously and charges won’t be pressed against him,” the gallery said on its website. People with information are asked to call (323) 747-5301 or e-mail this@thislosangeles.com.
